Do you want students to experience that geography extends beyond the boundaries of the classroom and the school? Then the Montessori College in Eindhoven is looking for you! Due to leave, we are looking for a colleague who is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays; other working days are negotiable.

Montessori College

The Montessori College is a secondary school where students are given the space to discover, develop, and utilize their talents. Based on the principles of Montessori education, we encourage independence, responsibility, and personal growth. This creates an environment in which both students and staff can learn, develop, and be themselves.

Working at Montessori College is engaging, educational, and challenging. Our school is characterized by openness, respect, and mutual trust. Choosing Montessori is choosing quality and personal attention. We prepare students for a world full of opportunities and challenges in a region that is constantly evolving. Development is a lifelong process, and it starts here.

Montessori College is affiliated with Summa and is therefore part of a broader movement in which talent development is central.

Together we are building on the ambition: learning and development as a continuous journey.

Working at Summa. Home base for talent discoverers.

Your impact as a geography teacher

  • You let students experience that geography is more than an atlas and topography.
  • You help them grow in independence and confidence in their own abilities.
  • You create a safe learning environment where students dare to ask questions, are allowed to make mistakes, and can develop.

This is what you will do as a geography teacher

  • You teach geography lessons to students at the Montessori College.
  • You guide students in their learning process and monitor their development.
  • In your lessons, you align as much as possible with what students need.
  • You develop and update teaching materials.
  • You compile tests and exams, administer them, and assess the work produced.
  • You work together with fellow teachers and mentors on high-quality and contemporary education.
  • You contribute to the further development of the Montessori College from your profession.

This is what we offer you

  • A place within a small-scale school where you really get to know the students and personal attention is paramount.
  • A committed team where you collaborate based on the Montessori vision of education.
  • Room to shape your lessons and guide students towards increasing independence.
  • A salary in accordance with the MBO collective labour agreement, scale LB, between €3.713 and €5.495 gross per month for a full-time position, depending on your education and experience.
  • A year-end bonus of 8,33%, pension accrual via ABP, and a laptop and phone on loan.
  • Plenty of opportunities to continue developing yourself, for example through a training program, a course, or our annual development festival.

This is what we expect from you

  • You hold a first- or second-degree teaching qualification in Geography, or are currently pursuing a teacher training program for this.
  • You get energy from guiding and motivating young people.
  • You give students clarity as well as space to become increasingly independent.
  • You are open to the principles of Montessori education and want to make them your own.
  • You enjoy working collaboratively, but can also take responsibility independently.
  • You maintain an overview and can switch gears effectively when the situation calls for it.
  • You are available immediately. The working days are Tuesday and Thursday; other working days are negotiable.

No experience with Montessori education yet? That is not a problem. What is more important is that our vision of students and learning suits you.
