Your impact as a Facilities Manager

This is what you will do as a Facilities Manager

As Facilities Manager, together with the other facilities managers, you are responsible for facilities services within Summa.

You are responsible for HR for a team of facilities professionals. You support them in performing their roles as effectively as possible. The daily operational management of the team lies with the facilities coordinator.

You also serve as operational contract manager for a portion of the facilities contracts. You maintain contact with suppliers, monitor the quality of service delivery, and ensure that contractual agreements are properly executed.

You work closely with directors and team leaders. Together, you ensure that facility services align with the needs of education. You are the point of contact for the organization regarding both facility and accommodation aspects at the locations.

Your responsibilities include:

  • professionalization of Facility Services services;
  • optimizing the quality and efficiency of facility processes;
  • operational contract management for major facility contracts such as cleaning, catering, and waste management;
  • advising directors and team leaders on facility services, including serving as the primary point of contact for accommodation aspects;

You are part of the Facility Services department and report to the Director of Facility Services, Finance & Control, and Sustainability. In this role, you work closely with the other team leaders within Summa.

This is what we expect from you

You are someone who collaborates easily, maintains an overview, and likes to ensure that agreements are actually carried out. You enjoy maintaining contact with various parties and feel at home in an environment where service is paramount.

In addition:

  • do you possess a higher professional or university level of work and thinking, preferably in Facility Management or similar;
  • do you have managerial experience;
  • do you have experience in the facilities field;
  • do you have experience with contract or supplier management;
  • are you good at switching between different interests;
  • you communicate easily with colleagues, management, and external partners;
  • do you work systematically and maintain an overview;
  • You identify areas where service delivery can be improved and address this together with colleagues and suppliers.
