Your impact as Team Leader IT Technology

• Organization – You ensure that over 18.000 students and over 2.100 employees can rely every day on a secure, reliable, and future-proof digital foundation to learn, work, and collaborate.
• The team – You give approximately twenty technical professionals the space and trust to apply their expertise to the fullest, take ownership, and continuously improve together. In doing so, you build a culture where professionals provide each other with feedback, can express differing insights, and can constructively disagree.
• The future – You influence Summa’s technical direction. You translate strategic ambitions into a clear technical direction and roadmap, explicitly together with the team. In doing so, you make conscious choices regarding technology, architecture, and sourcing. Cloud and SaaS are not ends in themselves: you choose the solution that fits best functionally, technically, and financially.

This is what you will do as an IT Technical Team Leader

• You provide coaching leadership to approximately twenty technical professionals. You help them grow in ownership, collaboration, craftsmanship, and professional communication, and ensure that they can utilize their expertise to the fullest. In doing so, you build a safe feedback culture in which professionals speak up, hold each other accountable, and can constructively disagree.
• You bring together various technical disciplines. Network management, system administration, workplace management, development, integration, architecture, and security are increasingly intersecting. You ensure that professionals collaborate across the boundaries of their own domains and arrive at well-founded technical decisions together.
• You translate Summa's strategy and ambitions into a coherent technical course and roadmap. You do this explicitly together with the team: you leverage existing expertise, ask incisive questions, and ensure that security, manageability, scalability, lifecycle, and sustainable choices are taken into account.
• You create a clear framework for evaluating technology and sourcing choices, including cloud, SaaS, and in-house management. Cloud is not an end in itself: you consider what best suits Summa functionally, technically, securely, manageably, and financially.
• You look beyond today's technology. You recognize patterns, open up technical risks and vulnerabilities for discussion, and ensure the team works systematically on a strong and future-proof technical foundation.
• You connect technology and service delivery. As a member of the Management Team, you work closely with Service Management, Functional Management, and Midas, ensuring that technical choices, incidents, and changes are properly integrated into the service delivery. Drawing on your technical expertise, you advise on continuity, architecture, security, lifecycle, feasibility, and innovation.
• You consciously steer towards open source and open standards as part of Summa's technical direction. In doing so, you look not only at the technology itself, but also at management, support, knowledge building, and collaboration with relevant communities.

As Team Leader IT Technology, you perform your duties within the IT department during day shifts. You lead approximately twenty colleagues in areas including network management, system administration, workstation management / Intune backend, integration and development, architecture, and security. As a member of the Management Team, you work closely with Service Management, Functional Management, and Midas, and report to the Director of IT.

This is what we expect from you

• You are an experienced, coaching leader who thrives on developing technical professionals and building a team where ownership, collaboration, and a safe feedback culture are a matter of course. You encourage professionals to speak up, give each other feedback, and disagree constructively.
• You have a higher professional or university level of work and thinking, and experience leading technical professionals. You know when to provide direction and when to give space to the substantive expertise of your team.
• You have a broad technical foundation in IT infrastructure, management, integration, and/or development. You don't need to be a specialist in everything, but you understand the technology well enough to participate in discussions, ask clarifying questions, connect different perspectives, and provide direction.
• You can translate strategic ambitions into a clear technical direction and know how to bring professionals along. You consider it natural to develop this direction together with the team and can make choices regarding architecture, security, lifecycle, manageability, and sustainable technical solutions.
• You can critically weigh various technology and sourcing options against each other. In doing so, you consider factors such as functionality, technical suitability, security, manageability, continuity, and costs. You view cloud and SaaS as potential solutions, not as ends in themselves.
• You excel at connecting technology and service delivery. You understand the impact of technical choices, incidents, and changes on service delivery and therefore enjoy collaborating with Service Management, Functional Management, and other disciplines. You communicate clearly, are organizationally sensitive, and can easily switch between operational, technical, and strategic issues.
• You have an affinity for open source and open standards and view these as deliberate choices within a technical strategy. You are mindful of the practical consequences, such as management, support, knowledge building, and collaboration with communities. An affinity with education is a plus.
