Business orientation class (havo) (bol)

Discover which business education suits you

Until the summer holidays, you will explore our business courses, take core subjects and work on projects.

Are you a senior general secondary education (HAVO) student in your fourth year? Are you a university of applied sciences (HBO) student who didn't pass the first year and for whom vocational education (MBO) might be a better alternative? Then come to the Business Orientation class! Of course, MBO students (years 2 and 3) who have discovered during their studies that the program they are currently enrolled in isn't what they're looking for are also welcome.

We'll start a new class in February. Until the summer holidays, you'll explore our business programs, take core subjects, and work on projects.

If you are successful, you will continue after the summer in the second year of one of the following courses:

  • Business Administration
  • Entrepreneur trade
  • Ecommerce specialist
  • Event producer
  • International business
  • Junior accountmanager
  • Marketing & communication specialist

More information.

What are you becoming?

During the Business Orientation Class, you'll discover our business programs. In just six months, you'll find the program that's right for you and then start your second year of that program.

What does your education look like?

You'll take the core subjects of our business programs and work on projects. If you perform well, you can enroll in one of the following programs after this six-month period (guaranteed place) in the current academic year:

  • Business Administration
  • Entrepreneur trade
  • Ecommerce specialist
  • Event producer
  • International business
  • Junior accountmanager
  • Marketing & communication specialist

Education and Examination Regulations (OER)

The Education and Examination Regulations (OER) of a course specify what you will be doing in which period, how much time is spent on this and an overview of the exams that will be taken. Find the OER for your course here.

Search by your Crebo number (see the box on the right of this page) to view the OER for the current academic year. This will give you a general idea of what's expected of you when you start the program. The OER for the upcoming academic year will be available in July.

Statutory tuition fees

The statutory tuition fee for the 2026-2027 school year is €1.511. Check DUO.nl for possible student financing.

Other costs

The educational requirements (books, licenses, etc.) depend on your previous education. The content will be discussed during the intake.

Laptop

In many courses, students cannot do without a computer. See the overview whether this applies to your course and download the correct specifications.

Elective courses

During your studies, you choose one or more electives to specialize or broaden your knowledge. For example, in entrepreneurship, management, programming, or a language. You'll receive more information about the electives available during your program. Each elective concludes with an exam. Read more about elective courses.

What prior education do you need?

This tailor-made programme is suitable for you if:

  • You are graduating from year 4 of pre-university education
  • You fail your first year of higher professional education or if higher professional education is not a good fit for you
  • During your mbo year 2 or 3 you discover that you would be better off doing something else

You preferably have (had) economics in your package.
