Nutrition and lifestyle advisor (bol)

Advise on sustainable lifestyle changes

As a nutrition and lifestyle consultant, you work closely with people, motivating them and helping them change their lifestyle and eating habits.

You can help people who want to reduce or stop drinking alcohol or smoking, who want to eat healthier or exercise more with workshops, coaching and lifestyle advice, for example.

Or in a completely different field: rehabilitation. This is how you help people recover after an accident, for example. Being confident in your (sports) shoes is important, as is good communication. You'll work on these skills during the program.

In your work, you'll encounter young people struggling with weight problems, elderly people who eat unhealthy food, or families who make unhealthy choices due to a limited budget. Together, you'll work towards sustainable dietary and lifestyle changes.

At school, you'll learn about lifestyle and exercise patterns, nutritional issues, and food preparation methods. You'll provide personalized advice and stay on top of market trends. With you as your advisor, everyone becomes healthier!

The sports training we offer is physical in nature. Please be aware of the risks (such as injuries) that can accompany sports and games.

What does your education look like?

The first year is broad. You'll learn to guide various target groups toward a healthier lifestyle, with nutrition as the central theme. A healthy lifestyle is the core of this and your goal. In the second and third years, you'll delve deeper into the themes and choose your target group. This program covers: nutrition and behavior, fitness with food, nutrition and education, budgeting, education and nutrition, business and lifestyle, behavior and lifestyle, menu engineering, and sustainability.

During your studies, you'll collaborate extensively with fellow students on projects. These projects are always related to one of the themes. We'll show you how the field works through several excursions and company assignments. You'll give numerous presentations, both individually and in small groups. In the first year, you'll do an internship in the second half of the school year. Year 1 has a longer internship period. In the third year, you'll begin school and conclude with a 2-week graduation project.

You can follow this course in two places: at Yuverta (formerly Helicon) in Helmond or at Summa in Eindhoven.
