For the Aviation Service Provider training, a number of regulations apply in addition to the student statute and the signed “Individual Recording of Agreements for Aviation Services” regarding workwear, appearance, and attitude.
During your internship and classes, you wear company clothing. The school or internship company pays for this and organizes a fitting day before the start of the program. You will be invited to this by email. Here you can see what is required. for women (pdf) en for men (pdf).
General provisions Uniform regulations
- Internships and classes are not permitted in clothing other than company uniform. The purchased uniforms must be worn by students in the prescribed manner.
- The students wear the uniform from the beginning to the end of their lessons/work.
- No uniform is worn outside of work or school hours, except when travelling from home to work and vice versa.
- It is not permitted to combine company clothing with private clothing. This means, for example, that “casual” footwear (e.g. Uggs) is not allowed in combination with the uniform.
- If necessary, raincoats can be worn over the blazer.
- It is not permitted to attach other accessories to the uniform.
- The use of private mobile phones is not permitted during work activities and in the sight of passengers in order to
- No alterations may be made to the issued uniforms or uniform components at the employee's discretion. If alterations are made to the uniform, the employee will be returned to its original condition or replaced at the employee's expense.
- Upon early termination of the training, clothing provided by the school/employer must be returned. If items are not returned by the employee, the established value thereof will be charged to the student/intern concerned.
- For safety reasons, the intern is required to wear the prescribed trousers, safety shoes, safety vests, and safety jacket during the internship. Footwear for school days is described below.
- The intern is required to wear hearing protection during work at Airside.
- In the event that this document does not provide for regarding uniform rules and personal grooming, or is open to interpretation, the teaching team will decide together with the Viggo internship supervisor.
- Provided clothing must be properly maintained by students and washed/cleaned regularly. If a student has the clothing dry-cleaned, this is at their own expense.
General uniform rules
Female students:
- On school days, students must wear a dark blue/black leather pump model with a heel height of 3 cm to 7 cm. These must be simple, without embellishments or stitching. Stilettos and wedge heels are not permitted. In addition to the pump, the all-white Adidas Vs Pace 2.0 may also be worn.
- Tights for pumps; skin colour 15-20 denier, smooth, transparent. Given the constant climate in the terminal, tights must be worn all year round.
- Plain long dark blue or black socks.
Male students:
- Students must wear low black leather shoes with leather or thin rubber soles on school days. They may not be suede or patent leather shoes. The shoes must be simple without embellishments. In addition to the leather shoes, the all-white Adidas Vs Pace 2.0 may also be worn.
- Black belt with a simple buckle.
- Plain long dark blue or black socks.
Appearance and style
- Attention should be paid to good physical and appearance grooming.
- Preventing body odor and ensuring fresh breath is essential. Use lotion, perfume, and eau de toilette sparingly.
- It is not permitted to wear hats, caps, or other applications that cover (part of) the face or hair. Only a headscarf provided by the school/internship company is permitted and must be worn tucked into the blouse (for safety reasons).
- A proper attitude must be maintained at all times in the workplace. It is strictly prohibited to read private literature, drink, eat or snack, or chew gum outside the canteens. It is also not permitted to carry your mobile phone with you during class or duty hours; it must be stored in the locker or bag. Additionally, proper language use is mandatory.
- Visible piercings and tattoos larger than 5 cm are not permitted, nor are tongue piercings, extreme hairstyles, and/or brightly colored hair.
- Eyeglasses must match the uniform. The frame must be simple, neutral in color (non-contrasting), and modest in size.
- A student always wears at least a blouse with a waistcoat or cardigan.
The following regulations also apply to female students in uniform:
- The blouse should be tucked into the skirt or trousers, with only the top button undone. The sleeves should not be rolled up.
- Wearing the scarf is mandatory.
- Hairstyle: hair must not hang on the shoulders or in the face. A ponytail is permitted with a maximum length of 30 cm. If this cannot be adhered to, the hair must be braided or styled in an updo. Elastic bands and pins must be dark blue, black, or the color of the hair. Headbands are permitted provided they are dark blue, black, or the color of the hair. They must be solid-colored and no wider than 2 cm.
- Make-up: modest make-up is mandatory.
- (Artificial/gel) nails must be well-groomed and may not extend further than 1/2 cm from the fingertip. Nail polish in modest, solid colors is permitted. Glitter, rhinestones, dots, French tips, or other decorations are not allowed. Additionally, painted nails must be neatly maintained. Striking colors such as black, green, blue, etc., are not permitted. In principle, nail polish should match the lipstick.
- Dental jewelry is not allowed.
- Allowed jewelry/accessories:

- A watch must match the work attire and the professional work environment.
- Maximum of two bracelets, not wider than 2,5 cm.
- Maximum of one subtle necklace.
- Maximum of two modest earrings and one ear piercing; studs or hoops, maximum diameter 2,5 cm.
- A maximum of three modest rings on each hand. For safety reasons, these should not be rings that are too large, to prevent them from getting caught on something.
The following regulations also apply to male students in uniform:
- The blouse should be worn tucked into the trousers with all buttons closed.
- The sleeves should not be rolled up.
- When wearing a waistcoat or sweater, the blazer may be removed.
- Wearing a tie is mandatory.
- Hairstyle: the hair length may reach no more than the collar of the shirt. A hairstyle that covers the ears is permitted, provided it is well-groomed.
- Jewelry/accessories: for male employees, in addition to a wedding ring, two simple rings, a watch matching the uniform, a subtle necklace, and two simple bracelets (max. 2,5 cm wide) may be worn.
- Nails must be well-groomed and trimmed short. Decorations are not allowed.
- Modest earrings (maximum diameter 2,5 cm) are permitted.
- A mustache is permitted provided it only covers the upper lip.
- A beard is permitted, provided it is trimmed and well-groomed.
