Your impact as a teaching assistant
- You guide students and help them get started independently and with confidence.
- You provide structure and support with lessons, projects, and other educational activities.
- You unburden the teaching team with organizational and administrative tasks, so that teachers can focus on providing quality education.
This is what you will do as a teaching assistant
- You organize projects, excursions, study days, and other educational activities.
- You support teachers in the preparation and execution of lessons and activities.
- Guiding groups of students.
- Providing administrative support, including with examinations.
- You support the team with various practical and organizational tasks.
- You provide students with explanations and brief instructions for assignments and educational activities where necessary.
- Organizing and maintaining materials.
As an Education Assistant, you carry out your duties within the Social Care program at Summa Care, Welfare and Sport.
In the Social Care program, we train young people and adults to become (personal) support workers. Our students learn how to support people who need help in their daily lives. For example, people with disabilities or mental health issues, the elderly, or people who require social support. In this way, we prepare students for meaningful work in which they can truly make a difference for others.

- You have completed training as a teaching assistant or are in the final phase of your training.
- You have an affinity with the Care and Welfare sector and secondary vocational education.
- You communicate easily with students and colleagues and know how to clearly convey information and instructions.
- You work together with colleagues and assist in the delivery of education.
- You work in an organized manner, maintain an overview, and can effectively plan various tasks and activities alongside each other.
- You are digitally skilled and quickly master new systems.
- You are open to feedback, critically examine your own actions, and enjoy further developing yourself.
