VeVa – Prospective NCO Safety and Craftsmanship All-round vehicle technician (bol)

Becoming a professional in the Ministry of Defence: working hard in commercial vehicle technology

Do you value camaraderie and active participation, but also want to become a true professional with responsibility in automotive engineering? Then you can work for the Ministry of Defence. We'll prepare you for a position as a non-commissioned officer in the Royal Netherlands Army.

You'll be trained at your chosen location. There, you'll lay the foundation for your military career, learning things like map reading, drills, first aid, and patrolling. At school, you'll learn all about commercial vehicle technology, enabling you to work professionally and independently on armored, wheeled, and tracked vehicles.

Every three weeks, you have a full-week internship with the Ministry of Defence. There, you'll wear a combat uniform just like other soldiers. You'll live and sleep in the barracks and be supervised by military instructors. It's very active, challenging, and educational.

You'll also work on your discipline and leadership skills. With the will to win, you'll make it to the Defense Department!

For more information, also take a look at the Defence website . Safety and Professionalism also has its own Instagram . You can find interesting videos about the training on YouTube .

More information.

What are you becoming?

With the Commercial Vehicle Technology specialization of the Safety & Craftsmanship program, you can work in the repair units of the Army and Air Force. You can also choose to pursue a position in automotive technology outside of the Ministry of Defence. Or you can progress to a level 4 vocational training program in commercial vehicle technology.

What does your education look like?

During the training program at Summa Safety, you'll complement your military training with the core tasks of an All-round Vehicle Technician (commercial vehicle technician) at the Automotive Campus in Helmond. You'll take both theoretical and practical lessons related to military vehicles. In the job-specific component of the EBAT program, you'll prepare for the maintenance and repair of trucks. After completing the program, you'll complete the training with a short report.

In the profile section of the EBAT training program, you'll prepare and perform inspections and accessory installations, and submit a brief report on the results. Finally, you'll delve into reading electrical diagrams, determine your measurement points on the vehicle, and then link your findings to a conclusion and repair recommendations.

During the program, you'll attend school three days a week and complete a two-day internship at a trucking company in your region. Because you're being trained as a soldier, you'll spend a full week with the Ministry of Defence every three weeks. A total of 3 weeks per year.
