'Stick to your first feeling', advises Fenne (18) for Summa's open day
Summa's open day on Sunday, January 25th is coming up. For many prospective vocational students, this is the opportunity to compare programs and discover what suits them best. Fenne Krikke (18) from Weert knows how important an open day can be. She's in her third year of Interior Design and, as a PhD student, will be helping prospective students find their way during the day.
Being creative runs like a thread through her childhood. "I was always crafting and redecorating my room. Combining colors and materials is still my favorite part." During her search for a program, the Interior Design program at Summa Wonen en Design immediately caught her eye. "It was a perfect fit for what I already enjoyed doing. And you get a lot of freedom here to develop your own ideas."
Atmosphere was the deciding factor
For Fenne, the open day itself was decisive. "I walked in and it immediately felt good. The lecturers are approachable, and you can really get creative here." As a PhD student, she's especially open about how the program works. "No need to persuade. Most students quickly sense if it's a good fit."
Her most important tip
Stay true to your initial feeling. You get so many new impressions at an open day. But if you walk in and feel something like, "This is a good fit for me," listen to that. I did the same thing myself.
