Summa offers expat partners opportunities in childcare
As early as 2024, Summa recognized the opportunity to offer expat partners a concrete path to employment in childcare. What started as a pilot has since grown into a well-running work-study program with clear results.
Motivated students
In this video, the program is explored in greater depth through conversations with the project leader, a participant, and a pedagogical coach and education coordinator from a childcare facility in the Brainport region. They demonstrate the results of the program, the challenges participants face, and the contribution this group makes to the workplace.
The picture is clear: motivated people are given a new opportunity to get to work, while organizations have engaged employees at their disposal. At the same time, it is becoming clear where attention remains needed, such as language and relevance to practice.
With this program, Summa makes a concrete contribution to reducing shortages in childcare and to utilizing talent already present in the region.
In the meantime, similar processes have been started in elderly care and technology.
