Palliative care floor (K1006)

Deepening of end-of-life care and bereavement counseling

Do you work in home care, a hospital, hospice, or nursing home and want to support people in their final stages of life? Then this specialization is perfect for you.

You'll expand your knowledge of medical topics such as pain management, palliative sedation, and euthanasia. But above all, you'll discover the human side of care. You'll learn how to be truly present—with attention and expertise. You'll delve into and reflect on the ethical issues inherent in this phase of life. You'll also hone your communication skills, enabling you to engage in open and respectful conversations with clients and their loved ones about wishes, choices, and saying goodbye. We connect theory directly to practice and work with numerous examples and case studies.

If you successfully complete the exam, you will receive a nationally recognized MBO certificate.
