What are you becoming?
As an Automotive Engineering Technician, you have a variety of career paths. You could work on car design, but you could also work in work preparation and supervision, or in the maintenance of components and systems.
For example, at companies like VDL and DAF, but also at their suppliers and engineering firms. This program earns you the Middle Management Engineering diploma. With this diploma, you can also progress to higher professional education (HBO) engineering programs at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, HAN University of Applied Sciences, and Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.

What does your education look like?
Challenge-based learning
You'll learn by working with your group members on challenging projects and challenges, such as the Hydrogen Challenge, drone competitions, chip tuning, and electrifying vehicles. You'll work according to a jointly developed schedule in the practical training hall, one of the three experience labs, and the theory classroom. It won't feel like school, but you'll learn a tremendous amount. This way, we offer meaningful learning days and you shape your own learning path.
Throughout your career at Summa, you will be guided by one study coach who knows you, teaches you, and guides you through your work or internship.
You'll attend school four days a week, and on the fifth day, you can do whatever you want. Our clubhouse is always open for you. Classes are always from 09.00:16.00 AM to XNUMX:XNUMX PM. We offer customized solutions: there are always opportunities for students who want to accelerate or slow down their studies. We'll work with you to find a suitable place in the dynamic world of mobility.

What prior education do you need?
For the vocational training (level 3) and middle management training (level 4) you must meet one of the following conditions:
- You have a diploma in pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) with a pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, a theoretical pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track, or a mixed pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) track.
- You have an (older) diploma from lbo, vbo, mavo or mavo-vbo.
- You have a basic vocational training diploma (level 2) or a diploma from another vocational training course (level 3).
- You have proof that you successfully completed the first three years of pre-university or senior general secondary education (havo) or pre-university education (vwo). Or you have another diploma or certificate recognized by the government.
